How it all began…
The one-man company was founded by Georg Deifel
Manufacturing and sale of colors for painting
The company’s current premises in Schweinfurt were bought
Reconstruction of the factory buildings that were almost completely destroyed after World War 2
End of the sugar refinery and candy manufacturing and relocation of the production of dyes to Schweinfurt until 1950 when the company begins to expand the production of pigments for industrial and dispersion dyes
Conversion of the one-man company to Georg Deifel KG under the leadership of Dipl. Chem. Heinz Deifel
First formulas and color settings for dyeing thermoplastic materials. Until 1970 expansion of dyeing products for the plastics processing industry
Start of the production of Masterbatches
Jörg Schäfer takes over as Managing Director
Development of special effect dyes for dyeing plastics (e.g. metallic effect)
Expansion of the production and administration buildings and construction of new production lines for the manufacturing of Masterbatches
Revision of the product palette for artists and restorers
Introduction of combination batches to the production program
Development of a new color range for use with synthetic resins according to RAL
Change of the Standard Masterbatch range to lead, cadmium, and diaryl-free products
Certification according to DIN ISO 9001 and takeover of the company management by Michael and Bernd Schäfer

We maintain close and collaborative contact with our customers. Through short and direct communication channels, we ensure that we can react quickly and easily to our customer’s wishes. We impress our customers with tailor-made products that are adapted exactly to their needs. Our reliability and high level of flexibility bolster the service of our company.

As a family business, we understand sustainability as our responsibility towards our employees, the environment, and towards society.
We view ourselves as responsible for sustainable trade with a view to future generations, and we are continuously optimizing our processes and equipment in line with eco-friendly criteria.

In choosing raw materials for our products, we take care to adhere to the relevant legal regulations and only use raw materials that correspond to our critical requirements regarding product safety.
Suppliers
We look to maintain a constant dialog with our suppliers and count on a long-lasting, collaborative, and trusting relationship with them. Our suppliers are an important part of our value chain. Therefore, we expect a goal-oriented partnership, high-quality products, and excellent service. Our customers are used to a high level of reliability and flexibility from us, and we expect the same from our suppliers. All raw materials must be preregistered in accordance with REACH, or they must be registered and the relevant documents regarding product safety must be made available to us.
Employees
Each employee in our company is jointly responsible for the smooth operation of our processes and therefore directly contributes to the success of our company. Our team competently supports the interests and wishes of our customers. Our employees have the freedom necessary to carry out their tasks and therefore assume responsibility for their actions.
As a family business, we see it as our duty to ensure that our employees are fully qualified with suitable training initiatives, and we offer young people apprenticeships in three skilled occupations in order to ensure our own supply of skilled workers for the future. Our employees work together respectfully and trustfully. All managers promote team spirit and do not tolerate any form of discrimination.
Environment
The most important raw materials for the manufacturing of our color concentrates are chemical products (e.g. pigments and plastics). As processors of chemical materials we have a particular responsibility for future generations. We consider it a particular challenge to further improve our products for the future in accordance with environmental considerations. Therefore, we are always on the lookout for new and innovative solutions to optimize the environmental compatibility of our products and processes.
